A couple of green hearts

This blog is a platform for our 52-weeks-long real-life experiment in making our everyday routine a little greener. Every Monday we choose a new eco-tip that Internet offers and try our best to follow it for a week. Every Sunday we tell you about our successes and challenges, victories and failures, but also about how the past week has effected us and our budget.

Many people believe that Global Warming is the only reason to go green. Others don’t believe in Global Warming at all, so why to bother? Well, the truth is that there are many more reasons out there to become more sustainable. For example, pollution is a huge problem all over the world, and you know what’s funny? Every single day each of us contributes to it by irresponsible consuming. But come on, often it is so easy to change!

And what about our health? We already spend lives sitting behind computers, going everywhere by car, eating unhealthy, you name it, so why not to start getting on the bike, enjoying local organic food, avoiding harmful chemicals, plastics and other crap they tend to add to everything these days.

Besides, we can’t stop thinking about people who already suffer because of our unconscious behavior, our irresponsible way of life. Environmental pollution, health damage, hunger, lack of clean water – for millions of people this all is already reality. That’s why we choose for Fair Trade and clean production, that’s why we value companies with corporate social responsibilities.

Of course we realise living sustainably is not only a matter of choice (so far we can’t afford solar panels, for instance), but let’s put emphasis on the things we cán do! Watch this eye-opening video about a system in crisis, and maybe then you will be ready to make one little step towards sustainability and to green-up your heart too!

We are excited about our experiment and we would be happy to receive any feedback on our actions. And if you have tips, stories, ideas or challenges for us, we are ready to be inspired by you as well.
